Hosting Outfitters is a division of Ackoo Solutions, LLC, an innovative web solutions company based in Charleston, South Carolina. We have been hosting clients located all over the world since 2003. Our Network and Infrastructure

It is one thing to offer great prices and ensure that you have unparalleled customer support. However, without the backing of a fast network and a superior datacenter you have nothing. This is why Ackoo has taken special care when choosing the proper datacenter. You can rest assured that your website is secure. Hosting Outfitters uses the Atlanta NAP, in the heart of Atlanta.

Sitting on one of AGL's main fiber backbones, the Atlanta NAP operates a metro Ethernet ring based on Extreme Networks 10 Gig technology. It has Sonet-like EAPS implementation for sub 50ms re-route times, utilizing Ethernet for efficient and affordable equipment connectivity. The AtlantaNAP operates with the philosophy that a few large pipes of quality providers setup to handle spikes in traffic and the occasional DoS attack offers the best connectivity. There are no small pipes giving servers bottlenecks on the network. This is why the network minimum Internet backbone connection is 1 gig pipes. The AtlantaNAP currently has 7 backbone providers and are publicly peered with 12 providers including Google and Earthlink. Their current network consists of Gigabit links to Global Crossing, Qwest, Sprint, PCC-BTN, SAVVIS, Telia(2), Cogent, and the Atlanta Internet Exchange public peering point.

Security
Security starts from the moment you enter the building with 10 foot high razor wire fences surrounding the 4 acre property, all of which is covered by security lights and cameras. All footage from the cameras is stored on a specially built security server with redundant storage. Entrance through the main gate requires a keycard or manual access granted by our onsite security guards. The front door is again protected by a key card reader. After entering the gate, there are three batteries

locked/key carded doors protecting the datacenter and a biometric hand scanner authentication. Once inside the datacenter itself, customers assets are protected by locked secure cabinets or cages. All assets entering or being removed from the building are logged by an onsite security guard. The AtlantaNAP's guard service is managed by a duly sworn armed police officer with arrest powers.

Power
Power to the AtlantaNAP is dual fed from the grid and protected though the redundant paralleled power system, configured with an additional full wrap-around bypass for extra redundancy (they are able to take the system offline for any type of internal maintenance without dropping power to the facility). The UPS system is backed up by a state of the art parallel generator system with multiple generators running in N+1 format. These are computer controlled and automated. The generators have 150 gallon day tanks fed from redundant pumps from our 12,000 gallon reserve tank. The system is powered by Cummins turbocharged generators and digital fuel management system by Simplex and Veeder-Root.

Servers

Hosting Outfitters' operates all client sites on Dell Poweredge Dual Xeon servers with 4GB of RAM, 10k SCSI RAID 5 disk arrays, and gigabit ethernet. We run an optimized dedicated mail server for all email accounts with up to date spam filtering and virus scanning technology.

For backup, HO has deployed a gigabit local area network NAS system, allowing for rapid restoration of accounts, in the event of any failure. All accounts are backed up on a 4 hour basis using rsync. Snapshots are available for dates ranging back to a couple weeks. Our backup system is run over an isolated local area network network to prevent any bottleneck and security concerns that might be created by using our main wide area network. This not only insures that your data is secure, but that your websites and email will always remain snappy.
